How a session actually goes

No lecturing. We work through problems together, encouraging your student to explain their reasoning.

STEP 1

Diagnose

Every family starts with a free twenty-minute call. We ask your student where they think they're struggling, what they're aiming for, and how much time there is to get there, then explain how we'd approach it.

STEP 2

Practice

Your student solves the problems as we guide, correct, and fill in what's missing as they go.

STEP 3

Independence

We stay on a topic until your student can get through it without help. After each session you get a short written summary of what we covered and what to practice before we meet again.

Common questions

What happens on the free call?
It takes about twenty minutes. We ask your student where they think they're struggling, what they're aiming for, and how much time there is to get there. Then we explain how we'd approach it, how often we'd meet, and what it costs. If we don't think we're the right tutors for your student, we'll tell you.
How much does a session cost?
Rates depend on subject and level, and we'll give you a number on the free call before anything is booked.
Are sessions online or in person?
Sessions are online by default, over video call with a shared whiteboard. Ask about in-person options when you inquire.
Do you assign homework?
After each session we send a short written summary of what we covered and what to practice before the next one. Your student's actual coursework always comes first, so the practice we set is short and targeted.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Your booking confirmation email has reschedule and cancel links. We ask for 24 hours' notice when possible.
Can parents sit in?
Always welcome, especially for younger students or a first session.
